3 WAYS TO CALM A PANIC ATTACK

1. TALK TO SOMEONE YOU TRUST.

Panic attacks can be really difficult to go through, especially if you are going through them alone. It's important that you find someone who you can trust and who you know can help you.

Tell that person everything. The reason the panic attack happened (if you know), the reason you are so upset, discuss ways to help calm you down or try and figure out a way that you can resolve the problem. Talking can help free your mind and truly figure out why you're so overworked.

2. GO ON A WALK.

Walk outside, in nature, maybe even by yourself. Let your head decompress. During a panic attack, you're usually overstimulated. You cry, shake, scream, break down, and the list goes on, but that all happening at the same time can worsen the problem.

Walking allows you to breathe, let go, come back to the present day. Listen to music or a podcast. Allow yourself to breathe, to become calm. And do not worry about what you look like. You crying or looking a little bit of a mess does not matter, at all. Just think, you're on that walk to help yourself, act as if no one else is on the sidewalk with you or across the street. Be selfish and just worry about yourself and your needs at that time.

3. GO TO A PLACE WHERE NO ONE MIGHT KNOW YOU.

I know this might seem weird. A place where no one knows you. The reality of this place could just be a local park or someplace that you feel most comfortable or safe.

I personally go to a park, that's close but just a short 5-minute bike ride from my house. I either read, listen to music, a podcast, or a meditation session. But I find a way in which I can be calm and let my mind simply settle down. And at this place, you don't have to worry. The odds of someone you know seeing you are pretty low. So this time can be spent solely on yourself.
